Here is Bill
Sooner or later I am going to have to get around to doing some animation.
Unless I want to spend a lot of money or a lot more time, I guess I am going to have to compromise and draw a line under Bill.
I fiddled a bit with the colour of the shirt and coat and added some pockets. I also added some buttons to the shirt. You may notice that the bottom of the coat doesn’t look quite as neatly pressed as the top part. That was because I decided to experiment a bit with bump maps.
I also bought some CloneCloth boots and textured them the same way as I did the coat, which I described in an earlier post.
So far I have decided to keep Bill in jeans but make them black. Unfortunately the boots are hidden under the trouser legs.
I could buy some more CloneCloth and change his jeans to tights. I know all kinds of people wore tights in historical movies, but I have difficulty imagining a ruthless smuggler wearing tights on a cold and stormy night.
Also I have put Bill’s head on Chuck and changed his eyes and hair.
Just to make it a bit more interesting, I stood him in a wood.
I guess the next step will be to re-skin one of the horses, since smuggler Bill rode a dapple-grey mare and I don’t seem to have one of those!
